Duties and responsibilities: in the medical field, ultrasound technicians are also called diagnostic medical sonographers. If you are a mother or if you are pregnant then you should have come in contacts with an ultrasound technician, they specialize in application of ultrasonography. Their job scope is expanding gradually owing to the high demand for qualified diagnostic imaging professionals. They work in hospitals, outpatient care centers, medical and diagnostic laboratories and physician offices. They work under the supervision of radiologist
1,2,or 4 years of education required, certification is voluntary.

Education: to become a ultrasound technician there are different ways to become a ultrasound technician, one can enroll in postsecondary certificate programs for ultrasound technicians. Many colleges and universities are also offering programs for ultrasound technicians leading to award of associates degree and a bachelor’s degree. Individuals who have backgrounds in healthcare services and have obtained a degree in their specialty area can be trained on the jobs by their employers if they want to become ultrasound technicians.
